The safety approach
A shared necessity !
Brabant’s ambition is to succeed in all its activities for the greatest benefit of the parties concerned: customers, agents, partners and suppliers. Therefore, since 1994, the Group has been fully committed to a certification approach in order to maximize its companies’ management system. All companies now benefit from the integrated Quality ISO 9001: 2008 certification, Environment ISO 14001: 2004, and for certain companies, Safety OHSAS 18001: 2007.
The continuing improvement of working conditions as well as the prevention of health and safety risks for each employee at his work station form part of Brabant’s major objectives, within a framework of a fully responsible development process.
This translates into continuing efforts to provide training each year and the analysis of each incident by the various players.
Safety aspects and assessment are always taken into account when decisions are made, and, in particular, with regard to new investments.
Our entire safety data base is available on the QUICKFDS server at the following address : http://www.quickfds.com/
This continuing improvement approach, supported by our CHSCT, enables us to maintain full control of industrial safety and hygiene.
A Conseiller Sécurité Transport des Matières Dangereuses [Safety Advisor for the Transport of Dangerous Materials] is present on all our sites. He draws up and monitors an Internal Safety Plan with regard to our logistics activities.
Fire prevention is another important item in our safety policy. The following are present on our production sites:
- Internal agents who undergo continual training (second response team members),
- High-performance technical devices (reserves of foam compounds, fire networks, water cannons and hose nozzles, etc.), to prevent and stop fires,
- An Internal Operations Plan.
Certain of our installations are equipped with automatic fire extinguishing systems. Exercises are carried out annually with fire crews, combining on-site facilities with external facilities.
